Alcohol Heroin Cocaine Marijuana Club Drugs

”Club Drugs” are becoming more and more popular among young people.  The most commonly used club drug is called “Ecstasy.”  Ecstasy (MDMA) is odorless, colorless, and tasteless and mixes easily in carbonated drinks (sodas).  It is very possible for people to ingest ecstasy without being aware of it.

Recent scientific reports indicate that ecstasy does cause brain damage, which may be permanent.  This is not the fun drug that many people believe it to be.  It is extremely dangerous and can have lasting negative effects.  Every day, the news reports young people who have died after taking ecstasy and other club drugs.

OTHER CLUB DRUGS.

The other club drugs include KETAMINE (Special K), ROHYPNOL (Roofies), GHB (Grievously Bodily Harm) and the old standby, LSD (Acid).  Rohypnol is commonly called the “Date Rape Drug” and can also be given to a person without their knowledge. GHB and LSD are COMPLETELY unpredictable.  Overdose of GHB can occur quickly and lead to death.  Most people know of the drastic effects that LSD can produce.

The use of all these drugs is rising dramatically, particularly among young people.  To make matters worse, Ecstasy is not legally manufactured anywhere in the United States and the drugs people are getting are made by “kitchen chemists”.

The fact is that people have no idea what is in these drugs when they take them!   One of the most common ingredients found in Ecstasy is an embalming fluid!

Take the time to become informed about these club drugs. They are every bit as dangerous to Health and LIFE as cocaine and heroin. The booklet Club Drugs: the Real Facts is an important source of information for every parent of teen-aged children. LINK)
